Q: Who is your favorite character in Shadow Hills?

A: I love Phe because she is beyond awesome, but I'd have to say that the character that is the most fun for me to write is Adriana. She just says whatever pops into her head without regard for silly things like other people's feelings. It's really fun and freeing to live vicariously through her.

Q: What is your favorite setting in Shadow Hills?

A: Definitely the ancient graveyard. I love graveyards, but here in Austin, Texas, our oldest ones are from the 1800's. I was absolutely floored by the beautiful carvings on the crumbling tombstones I saw in Massachusettts. They took my breath away. There's this almost palpable atmosphere in those old cemeteries from the 1700's. Like the very ground has absorbed the haunting past of the area.

Q: Is there going to be a sequel to Shadow Hills?

 A: I can't officially confirm that, but I am working on a little project I like to call Book 2.

Q: How many books do you envision for this series?

A: At minimum four. I'm long-winded and love to get tangled up in complicated mysteries and ever-expanding story lines, so to say less than four would be completely ridiculous. In all probability, to wrap it up like I would like, I'd have to write six or more. And one of those would need to be a prequel to REALLY tie all the loose ends together.
